A building housing the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C., was evacuated Wednesday morning after a report of a bomb threat.
“This morning, a bomb threat was received in the Humphrey Building. Out of great caution, we have evacuated the building and no incident has been reported,” Sarah Lowenheim, Assistant Secretary of HHS Public Affairs, said in a statement. hill.
“We are monitoring the situation closely with the Federal Protection Service,” she added.
At least three government buildings near the Humphrey Building have been evacuated Washington Post reported, including the O’Neill House office building and the American Botanic Garden.
Reports also said that a number of streets in the area were closed due to the response of the US Capitol Police and the Metropolitan Police Department.
