Leon Black has been out of town in recent weeks with his wife, Debra, while facing very public rape allegations and has admitted to an affair.
The former Museum of Modern Art chair was spotted with his wife at Italian restaurant Sette Mezzo on Lexington and 71st Street. The restaurant describes itself as a “club”.
“They looked like they were holding hands,” said a source who saw them three weeks ago.
Blacks sat on a high-profile bench by the window and were having dinner at about 9 pm with another couple. The source said it seemed the blacks wanted to be noticed.
Debra, a stage producer, was “completely insane,” according to the source.
On one occasion, the source said, the blacks went to the outside seating area and shook hands with another restaurant. A BlackBerry spokesperson declined to comment.
Last week, blacks reportedly attended Michael Milken’s annual Beverly Hills conference together — watching their son Ben speak at a panel about distressed investing.

Milken and Leon Black used to work closely together in the 1980s at Drexel Burnham Lambert, before Black formed Apollo Global Management.
Blacks have four children and were married in 1982.
In June, former Russian model Guzel Ganieva sued Black for defamation for allegedly raping her.
He vehemently denied the charges, while admitting to an affair. Since she was first indicted, Black resigned from Apollo, deciding not to run for re-election as president of the Museum of Modern Art.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has reportedly opened a criminal investigation into Black’s case.
