
A 12-year-old boy was stabbed in the stomach by a 12-year-old classmate in a park outside Queens Prep, according to law enforcement sources.
After some sort of argument, the suspect stabbed an acquaintance with an unknown object near JHS 8 in Jamaica, sources said.
The incident happened after school and it was not clear if the stabbing was a game of cheating or a serious dispute.
The appellant left the scene but was later arrested while the victim was seeking refuge inside the school before being taken to a local hospital.
He is expected to survive the puncture and policemen are still investigating the accident.
The school year has seen a 28 percent increase in gun seizures at or near a city school so far this year, according to New York Police figures.
