Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been charged with forcible touch, a sexual misdemeanor, according to documents filed in Albany City Court Thursday.
The criminal complaint alleges Cuomo put his hand “under the victim’s blouse” and “on the intimate part of her body”. The incident allegedly occurred on December 7, 2020 at the Governor’s Executive Palace.
Cuomo resigned in August over allegations of sexual misconduct but has denied any wrongdoing. A Cuomo spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Marianne Wang, a lawyer representing two other harassment victims, celebrated word of the criminal lawsuit.
“Como is being held accountable as he should, including being forced to respond to a criminal charge,” Wang said in a statement.
“We hope that all men abusing their power by abusing women will see this and understand that there will be real consequences for their very destructive behavior.”
