The American international has missed the past seven weeks with an ankle injury.

His last appearance came in Chelsea’s first Premier League game of the season against Palace, where he managed to score himself on the scorers list.

News of Pulisic’s return will be good news for coach Tuchel, who recently suffered a double whammy in the striker’s division.

Both Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku, the club’s record holder, were injured in Chelsea’s last Champions League match against Malmo.

Lukaku, 28, faces a month on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

Pulisic hopes to have an effect similar to that obtained by Callum Hudson-Odoi last weekend.

The 20-year-old was challenged by his coach Tuchel to step up amid the Blues injury crisis, and he did.

Hudson-Odoi scored in Chelsea’s 7-0 win over struggling Norwich in the league.

Despite injury problems, Chelsea finds itself at the top of the table, one point ahead of rivals Liverpool, and two points ahead of defending champion Manchester City.

Next up for Tuchel’s men is the newly wealthy Newcastle team, who find themselves in the midst of a relegation loss.
