Facebook Isn’t Facebook Anymore – Geek مراجعة Review

Mark Zuckerberg's head with the new Meta logo.
dead

“Some people will say this is not the time to focus on the future,” Mark Zuckerberg said during the opening. Facebook Live Streaming 2021. He was clearly referring to the real-world controversies facing his company at the present time. But after uttering that sentence, The Zuck slipped into a realm of illusion. He spent the next hour wandering the land of virtual reality fantasy, fighting to get home at one point – Facebook is no longer.

I mean it literally and figuratively. While Facebook will keep its name, the big company known as Facebook is It is now called dead. This new name is a reference to “metaverseA blurred concept of a future where virtual reality and augmented reality technologies built on Facebook drive real-world commerce, social interaction, work, and education.

This simple name change won’t erase Facebook’s “mistakes,” as Zuckerberg calls them, nor will it protect the company from criticism or embarrassment. Congressional Hearings. People will continue to call Meta by its original name, just as they say “Google” when referring to the parent company in question, Alphabet.

I know some people will say this is not the time to focus on the future, and I want to acknowledge that there are important issues to work on in the present – there will always be. So for a lot of people, I’m not sure there will ever be a good time to focus on the future. But I also know that there are many of you who feel the same way as I do.

But this is where the metaphorical change of identity comes into play. Facebook spent the hour-long livestream making promises about the future, and those promises could affect the way we see the company today. Once the Metaverse is at its peak, Facebook says, we’ll be playing AR basketball games with strangers from all over the world. We’ll be spending our working day on a deserted island using cool VR glasses, and of course we’ll be buying NFT squad merchandise for our Metaverse avatar.

Just to be clear, the “future” of the Metaverse seen during today’s keynote is an illusion. It’s a mess of half-baked product offerings and impossible nonsense. But when you watch a bunch of pre-show avatars projecting these concepts a mile per minute away, you forget that Facebook is Facebook. These things seem a far cry from Facebook’s social media empire, which promotes divisive content and actively ignores children’s mental health. It is quite the utopia.

The Facebook keyword was a frantic dream from start to finish, but there was a grumble of clarity before its end. This is correct; Facebook announced its power Oculus Cambria Headphones. This was a moment when Zuckerberg was able to tie everything together, put his Metaverse fantasies back on solid ground, and proudly accept Facebook into the world. But like the current “mistakes” that Zuckerberg succinctly mentioned, the Oculus headset has been covered up in favor of something that might be impossible – a harmonious world of tomorrow powered by Facebook.
