“Friends” star Matthew Perry is said to have signed a seven-figure deal to write a memoir promising to go behind the scenes of the legendary sitcom and deal with his long battle with addiction. Deadline reports.

The Macmillan Flatiron Books division has picked up the global rights to the “seven digit average range” volume in what Deadline calls a “key overnight anticipation” that circumvented the auction.

The 52-year-old actor, known for playing Chandler Bing on NBC, first went to rehab in 1997 and then again in 2001. He even admitted not remembering filming multiple seasons of “Friends” due to his drug use.

“I guess the answer is I don’t remember three years of that,” he said For BBC Radio 2 in 2016. “So none of those… somewhere between season three and six… I was a bit out of it.”

Perry said the jet-ski accident precipitated his addiction, making him dependent on painkillers.

“It was not my intention to have a problem. I loved how it made me feel, and I wanted to gain more,” said Berry, whose subsequent weight loss of about 20 pounds became noticeable to viewers from the start.

“I was out of control and very unhealthy.”

Earlier this year, fans were upset when a video promoting the eagerly awaited “Friends” show showed Perry spitting out his words and seeming to stare vacantly.

The “Fools Rush In” star has also had a tumultuous personal year. Last November, he got engaged to 29-year-old literary agent Molly Horowitz, calling her “the greatest woman on the face of the planet.”

Sadly, only seven months later the couple separated from Perry and released a statement that read, “Sometimes things don’t work out and this is one of them. I wish Molly the best.”

Perry’s personal life was also thrown into light earlier this year when a 19-year-old launched private FaceTime conversations she had with the 51-year-old after matching him on Raya.

The untitled memoir will be published in Fall 2022.
