A disturbing new surveillance video released by police shows a man in traditional Jewish costume being shot with a possible BB pistol in Brooklyn.
Police said the 23-year-old victim was driving on Albany Avenue and Montgomery Avenue in Crown Heights around 10:30 p.m. Oct. 11 when three men pulled up inside a dark-colored Hyundai Sonata with silver wheels.
When the victim tried to cross the street, the Hyundai driver turned a corner and someone inside fired an “unidentified shell” – believed to be a shot from a BB pistol – at him, according to video posted early Thursday, and authorities.
The clip shows the victim falling on the sidewalk holding his head as the car passes.
The victim sustained a laceration on the left side of his head, and was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital – Brooklyn Methodist in stable condition.
Police officers said no anti-Semitic statements were made during the incident, but the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating.

The three suspects were still on the lam Thursday morning. All of them are described as being between 20 and 30 years old, and have medium complexion.
One of them was last seen wearing a blue jacket and beige pants, another in a black hoodie, black pants and yellow shoes, and the third wearing a red hoodie, black pants and black and white sneakers.
