Star Craig Conover from Winter House will wear eye makeup any chance he gets

Craig Conover laughed when we spoke earlier this month, a little earlier: “This isn’t my closet I’m sitting in right now.” winter house first shown. He had a powered iPad, ready to discuss the first season of the new Bravo series, from the NYC apartment of his co-star and now girlfriend Paige DeSorbo. It was also revealed Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen This week you will appear in the new season of Southern charm, which they are now filming in Charleston, and that Craig had gone up summer house During the filming of the new season, which is scheduled to be broadcast in early 2022.

However, while bestie Austen Kroll said he could see the sparks igniting between the two while they were staying in Vermont, Craig told me why he considered himself a good friend, and how that meant he was available to work as a home therapist for the rest of him winter house the rooms. We also discuss his love of themed parties, how often we can expect to watch him fall down the stairs this season, and what it was like for former Naomi Olindo’s return in Southern charm mix up.

Comma: In the first episode, you announce a room right away. Do you support this decision?

Craig Conover: Yes. Anytime I’m going on a long trip, I just need my own space and I’m not used to a shared house. This setup, I only did it on weekends in the Brothers Mountains and that was only 3 days. If it was only a 3-5 day trip I would have been fine but knowing I was there for 2 weeks…I wouldn’t choose to go on vacation I didn’t have a place of my own. So I was a little surprised when we got there that everyone didn’t have their own rooms, but I would have gone crazy if I didn’t have a little space. Unobtrusively, I had the best room while everyone else was squabbling over the big room.

Do you think it’s best to be in a relationship at the time? And because you were, what did you teach him about that relationship and about yourself throughout the experience?

I really enjoyed being in a relationship while I was at home because it just allowed me to take a step back and be a mentor and counselor to everyone, which I would end up in this situation a lot of. But I really did manage to make some real friendships with all the girls in the house without there being any curiosity about what my intentions were or if we were going to sabotage that friendship by hooking up. Basically I was banned and became like a brother to many of them.

Natalie and I started dating in quarantine, it was a quarantine relationship. The world was just beginning to open up again before I went to Vermont and things kind of changed when the world opened up. When it was just her and I at home we were great, but that’s not the real world. So we started to break down a little bit and this trip was either going to make us stronger or make us realize that maybe it wasn’t right for us. So you’ll see how it goes and that journey that we’re taking. But we both were very respectful and it just adds a different dynamic to the show.

Well, they say that sometimes the best relationships start out as friendships, so I think a lot of people will be watching this season, perhaps looking for some romantic seeds to be planted. Do you think we might be able to see those along the way?

I really do not know. I consider myself a very good friend. So you just have to watch, I think. What’s cool is that you get to see the whole process over the months, with all the shows, you can really see us grow and become friends, and then it becomes more than just friends and I think we’re in a really good place and I’m happy.

How did it feel to be around Austin this time, when you see all these women fall in love with him?

I was happy for him. It’s really good to see him move forward. He is one of my best friends and I care about him. So when we got home and broke up, it was really cool to see him and Ciara started flying sparks. To see him be fun, Austin again is great and I was all in support of him. Yes, Lindsay ordered, it was funny because, as you’ll see this season, I’ve known about that for a long time. They’ve always had a thing for each other and I was like, Am I going crazy? I was a bit of a chatterer before you got there and said, did you make this up in my head? And then you’d see what would happen, and I knew I wasn’t crazy.

How is this experience different from Southern charm experience you? Did you like the thing about cameras around the clock?

It’s very different. I’m excited to see more of our positivity, humor and happy things. But with that also comes the bad because you will see us drunk on this show more than you ever will Southern charm, which is hard to believe. With the watch, it takes 24 hours, so you have to be stricter and I’m excited about that because I think the good outweighs the bad. Of course, we may all be embarrassed about some things, but it took me 5 days after I left when I didn’t wake up in the middle of the night looking for the red light [laughs]. But I’m excited, especially for me and Austin, for you guys to see a completely different side of us that I hope we like.

How many times have you fallen down the stairs?

[laughs] Yes this is really funny. Thinking twice, I think there’s another one coming. But the fact that they see the little little things is sometimes the funniest. So I think you’ll get a lot of them this year. I’m not the only one going down the stairs this year. You hear it “Ah!” many times.

I know you love a themed party and I know you’re into it and I really appreciate it about you. How did it feel to wear a lot of clothes as an excuse to get drunk?

I think I put on makeup for half the show. Because I just go to the girls’ room and any chance I have of getting my eye makeup done. But what was really great about the friends we had in Vermont was that everyone got involved. Everyone is dressed up and I think we crushed a lot of them. Going downstairs and seeing everyone and getting ready, really lets you immerse yourself in the vacation. There weren’t any sour grapes that were too sweet for school, a tip at one of our parties, in fact. By the time summer came, I think I was bereft of subjects, but in Vermont we thoroughly enjoyed it.

You’re also making the debate about oral sex versus cowardice.

Yes, I think Paige told me she agreed with me. I studied Women and Gender Studies in my final year and ended up being an incredible class at the College of Charleston. There were only three guys in the class and we were all sitting in a circle and having these crazy conversations and I learned a lot about things I didn’t even know I didn’t know. but once [the professor] I asked this question to us and I said, I think this is the best question I’ve ever asked, it’s really good. And these are some of the things on this show that would be great because we have some fluid courage and we’re all really good at being ourselves, for better or worse.

I wanted to get your opinion on our new friends Gabe, Jason, Julia, and Andrea. Anything you want to tell us?

I really enjoyed meeting everyone and I think chemistry is a really unbelievable and really lucky thing. Even if most of them know each other, it’s hard for 12 people to go on vacation, even with my group of Charleston friends, and they don’t have serious problems. But we went on vacation for three weeks and had a blast. Not to say there weren’t some issues, but at the end of the day we left our friends.

Well, I think we’re all excited to see you be the voice of reason all season.

What does that tell you? We had some crazy deep transformations while we were there and I hope everyone can see it because everyone is helping each other do some research into their souls. it is good. Cale opens up to me a lot. Everyone has their own people who go to them and just start talking and you’re like, “Well, yeah, if you want to tell me this.” I feel like people usually want to tell them things, but I always have my ear to listen.

What can you say about what is happening in Charleston right now? How is this filming going?

It’s fun because I love that Bravo has finally dropped the barriers and we’re kind of like the new Marvel universe. I love crossovers and you’ll be able to see some new faces which will be a really fun and refreshing take on things. Plus all the reasons you love it Southern charm Still there. The boys are still ready for their silly antics and the girls are adorable growing up, it’s fresh. It’s hard for things not to get stagnant and old but many of us have grown a lot and there are a lot of changes. I mean, it’s been a year since we last saw you guys, so there’s a lot of catching up to do.

Are we surprised that we’re talking about Naomie potentially making a comeback?

She’s back in Charleston, which is great. I think she finds herself again and she’s happy and… you know, Charleston is a small world. It’s impossible not to be in each other’s life when you live there. Which is kind of the reason why I moved to the Bahamas and left the city and I love coming there [to New York]I’m in town now, it’s just a healthy balance.

I want to get an update Sewing down the south. How is the store and how is business going?

It’s wonderful. We just achieved a huge milestone that we had the pleasure of achieving in an entire year and achieved in four and a half months. The store will switch over to the holidays on November 1st, so it will feel like the North Pole. I’m so excited about it. We have a great work team, we have 14 employees there. I want to have an ice machine in the store and they’re like, “Yeah Craig, because you don’t have to clean it.” I’m like, “Yeah, well, that’s going to be cool.” But we have a new holiday candle collection, a new line of holiday pillows and blankets and we’ll be launching the Craig Conover nonprofit soon. This is something I’m really looking forward to, kind of following in Bethenny’s footsteps. But sewing company Down South has donated more than $100,000 so far in its three years of existence. And that means we’ll have black-tie celebrations and things like that. It’s just growing and it’s fun and I think we have a bright future for sure and we’ll keep busy. The structure of the store and the law firm, it makes me healthier. I love hanging out in the store, meeting hundreds of people every week, it’s a great time. We have drinks there, good music and it’s just fun.
