After breaking up with Zayn Malik, Gigi Hadid has addressed the alleged rift between her mother Yolanda Hadid and her longtime partner.
“Gigi focuses only on what is best for Khai. I asked for privacy during this time,” Gigi’s representative told People In a statement released Thursday, he explained that the model’s priority is to take care of her and Malik’s 13-month-old daughter despite the family feud.
The outlet reported on Thursday that Gigi, 26, and Malik had separated amid the conflict.
“They are not together now. They are both good parents,” Tell a family friend the enforcer. “They are the parents. Yolanda is of course very protective of Gigi. She wants the best for her daughter and grandson.”
TMZ . sources said Earlier in the day, Malik, 28, was said to have hit Yolanda, 57, an allegation the former One Direction singer has vehemently denied.
“I vehemently deny hitting Yolanda Hadid,” he wrote in a statement on social media. “For the sake of my daughter, I refuse to give any more details.”
Multiple requests for comment for all three celebrity teams from Page Six went unanswered Thursday.
In his statement, Malik expressed his hope that “Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards addressing these family issues in private.”
The musician then shed light on what led to the alleged incident between him and the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum.
“As you all know, I am a normal person and I desperately want to create a safe and private place for my daughter to grow up. A place where private family matters are not brought up on the world stage for everyone to do regardless,” he continued.
“In an effort to protect that space for her sake, I have agreed not to contest allegations arising from an altercation between me and a member of my partner’s family who entered our home while my partner had been away for several weeks.”
Malik also expressed his disappointment when his apparent issues with Gigi’s family were made public: “This was and should be a private matter but at the moment it seems that there is a division and despite my efforts to return us to a peaceful family environment that allows it. I am sharing my daughter the way it deserves, this has been “leaked” to the press.
