When it comes to managing an extensive photo library, Google Photos is one of the most powerful tools out there, even on the iPhone. Google is making it more efficient for Apple users, as has the company announce Its Locked Folder feature is coming to iPhone.

Google first introduced Locked Folders on Pixel phones in May 2021, and now the company is planning to expand them to other devices. Google has announced that additional Android phones will receive the feature “soon,” and iPhones will get the feature as early as 2022.

Once you create a locked folder, the photos and videos in it will be hidden from the main Google Photos feed, so the next time you scroll through your mom’s photos of your dog, those other photos you’ve sent to your partner won’t be hidden by accident.

Instead, you’ll need to go to the folder and unlock it if you want to see the media hidden inside it. It’s a nice layer of safety that can save you from some embarrassment or worse. You can protect the folder with a password or biometrics, so you can be sure to lock it the way it’s easy for you to access it when you need to.
