How Manchester United could join Tottenham with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make a bunch of changes and Varane could return

Manchester United will be desperate to put a nightmare week behind them with a victory over Tottenham tomorrow.

Pressure has been building on President Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for weeks, but the heat is getting a little too hot to handle.

The Red Devils thrashed 5-0 at Old Trafford against rivals Liverpool last week and their coach described him as “rock bottom”.

He survived to take the team to Tottenham and knows only a positive result will do.

But he is heading to North London without suspended Paul Pogba after the red card he received against Jurgen Klopp’s team.

None of United’s players would have much to complain about if they were brought down after Sunday’s humiliation.

However, a number of them are expected to get a chance of redemption, but Solskjaer is expected to make a number of changes.

French World Cup-winning defender Raphael Varane, who arrived from Real Madrid in the summer, is back in training this week after being injured on the sidelines.

Solskjaer has already been criticized for appearing to rush captain Harry Maguire, who appears to be sorely lacking match fitness, but is desperate.

This means that there is a high chance that Varane will return to the center of defense along with the captain.

For added protection, expect the Serbian destroyer Nemanja Matic to replace Fred.

He will be tasked with protecting the four defenders alongside Scott McTominay with Bruno Fernandes in front of them supporting Cristiano Ronaldo in attack.

Another big decision Solskjaer has to make is to attack.

Many would like to share Edinson Cavani given his consistent rate of work, but he’ll be another minor lately that we think he could get a nod of instead.

Jadon Sancho was ridiculed from all sides for his poor start at United after his big-money move from Dortmund.

With Mason Greenwood remaining in place on the right, the once again in-form Rashford could rest with Sancho and be given another chance to shine.
