Trello for Android is a handy app, that lets you keep track of your tasks and projects on the go. However, if you are not looking at the latest version of the board, it can cause a big mess very quickly.

If Trello is not syncing properly on your Android device, try these 5 fixes.

1. Enable Offline Sync

Trello does not sync in the background. Instead, it waits until you try to access something to sync with. You can make syncing more frequent by enabling offline syncing. When this setting is enabled, Trello will check once per day to make sure your boards are up to date.

Follow these steps to enable offline sync. Open your board, then go to menu > Panel settings > Available now. You can also force sync by opening the panel List and tapping on a file synchronization button at the bottom.

2. Clear the cache

If manual sync is not working, it could be because there is a corrupt cache file. The cache is a set of shortcuts that the app does to speed up itself. If you clear the cache, this will fix this problem.

To clear app cache on Android, go to Settings > apps > Trello > storage, and select Clear cache.

3. Update the app

If you are not running the latest version of Trello, this can cause sync issues. Also, some of your power units may stop working, or fail to sync properly with the rest of the board.

To update the app, go to Settings > apps > Trello > App details in the store. If an update is available, it will show the location of the file Open Usually the button.

4. Uninstall and reinstall the app

If forced synchronization does not work, clearing the cache will not help, and the update refuses, try reinstalling. Long press the application shortcut, or find it in a file Settings > apps List. Choose uninstall.

Restart your phone to clear any remaining temporary files. Then reinstall the app from the Google Play Store. This should force the installation of the latest version and reset the entire application cache.

5. Use a browser shortcut instead

If the app has resisted all the fixes mentioned above, you can instead use Trello through your mobile browser. For easy access, add it to the home screen as a shortcut.

In Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome for Android, go to the Trello Board you want to save. Then open the browser menu and select Add to home screen. This creates a shortcut that opens the panel in a new tab.

Trello browser version converts nicely to mobile screens. The only panel management feature in Trello that you can’t use is drag and drop. Insert the card and use the file Transfer A button to move cards, instead.

Enjoy simultaneous projects

Whether you use Trello for work or a personal to-do list, syncing is an important feature. Your boards and cards should be the same whether you view them on your phone, desktop app, or through a browser.
