And just like that… “Sex and the City” fans had mixed feelings about Nicole Ari Parker joining the cast after the news that Kim Cattrall won’t be back for crossovers.
“When it first came out that I was replacing Samantha’s character – which isn’t true at all, so please write that – she just yelled at me,” the 51-year-old said. The Hollywood Reporter Friday.
She added that she was “also attacked with love” by fans who were actually excited to see a new face Join the team at And Just Like That.
“I have been photographed in places where I should never have taken pictures,” she said. “The fans are very passionate and superior. I had an idea about it because I’m one of those fans but I had no idea [the extent of it]. “
Parker’s character, Lisa Todd Wexley, is the Park Avenue mother of three as well as one of four new diverse characters to be introduced in the spin-off. The other three will be represented by Sarah Ramirez, Sarita Choudary and Karen Bateman.
Several regulars will reprise their roles on “SATC” for “And Just Like That…” when it premieres in December, including Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Chris Noth and The late Willie Garson.
Sadly, Garson died suddenly in September after a private battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57 years old.
