But Manchester City’s title rivals had a worse time after their 2-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace, where Aymeric Laporte saw the red.

Arsenal continued their impressive run as they beat Leicester 2-0.

Gabriel and Emile Smith Rowe scored first-half goals to give the Gunners all three points.

But it was goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale who got all the plaudits after the match thanks to his impressive performances, including the amazing James Madison free kick save.

Burnley raised itself to the last three places with a sure 3-1 victory over its guest, Brentford.

Southampton also earned three vital points with a 1-0 home win over Watford that put them up 14th.

Today sees Leeds travel to Norwich off to an early start in a massive relegation battle.

It’s a blue and blue derby at Villa Park as high-flying West Ham visits Aston Villa who are looking to finish a three-game losing streak.

The English Premier League matches will conclude on Monday evening when Wolverhampton hosts Everton.
