Who is Jeff Stelling?
Jeff Robert Jeffrey Stelling was born on March 18, 1955, an English sports journalist and sports television presenter.
Raised in a council house in Hartlepool, his first job was with the local Hartlepool Mail newspaper.
His first job was in broadcasting with the now defunct Radio Tees.
Stelling also worked as a sports reader for TV-AM and Eurosport before his legendary relationship with Sky Sports began in 1992.
He is currently the host of Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports, but is set to step down.
What are the highlights of Jeff Stelling’s career?
At the start of the 05/06 season of the English Premier League became the host of Monday night football.
Stelling won the Sports Journalists Association, Sports Broadcaster of the Year award between 2005-2009.
Jeff presented the popular game show Countdown from 2009-11, but left the focus on his new role at Sky Sports; He replaced Richard Keys as the main presenter of live coverage of the UEFA Champions League between 2011-2015.
Jeff is currently the host of the ITV Alphabet Game Show.
When did Jeff Stelling start presenting Soccer Saturday and why is he stepping down?
Jeff started presenting Soccer Saturday in 1994, and has since personified the show. His legendary wit, dramatic throw and constant composure have made him a cult figure in the eyes of football fans.
“Unbelievable Jeff,” a phrase coined by match-day correspondent Chris Camara, is now part of pop culture. The catchphrase has spawned many memes and is a constant element on social media.
But on October 30, 2021, he announced that he would be stepping down from the prestigious gig after that three decades In Sky Sports.

Jeff is a longtime fan of Hartlepool United and his loyalty to the National League team can extend to his submission… Last season he wore a Hartlepool shirt on the final day of the second league season, in a grueling development that relegated Hartlepool afterwards.
