A man was arrested for shoplifting in Macy’s in Manhattan on Tuesday, police said, and busted for heat.
A New York Police spokesperson said the 21-year-old was kidnapped and held by security inside the Herald Square store around 6:30 p.m. until NYPD arrived and discovered he was carrying a loaded .380 caliber pistol.
Police said he has not yet been charged.
The suspect lives in Brooklyn and was arrested weeks ago and charged with grand theft from another store on January 14, according to sources.
Sources said he was arrested twice for armed robbery in 2019.
