LEGO Ideas Polaroid Camera

The LEGO Ideas platform It’s where the company takes suggestions from ordinary people who have great and potentially great ideas and turns them into LEGO sets. And while we’ve seen plenty of great designs over the years, we hope that building a nostalgic Polaroid LEGO Ideas will become a reality.

The Polaroid OneStep SX-70 from Minibrick Productions is an almost true-to-size Polaroid camera that moves and everything. It’s the latest project to have 10,000 supporters LEGO Ideas. However, just because it got to 10,000 votes doesn’t mean LEGO will ever be successful, but it sure will be awesome.

In fact, in 2021, more than 100 designs got 10,000 votes to likely get LEGO, which clearly has the final say, and so far, only four have come to life.

The 538-piece design is based on the popular Polaroid camera, but only this time, you won’t have to wait for images to be developed, as they are all made of bricks. According to the presentation, this LEGO set will have many neat features.

First, users can fold the front, revealing the camera’s inner workings, including manufacturer stickers and all. Then, by rotating the gear knob on the left side, LEGO Polaroid will develop a film strip made of LEGO bricks. Owners can watch it come out, then spin the wheel the other way to pull the film back into the camera.

The creators even came up with a way to create a functional viewfinder of some sort, making it look like an original Polaroid camera. Again, the chances of this getting by LEGO are slim, but we can only hope that the recent revival of LEGO instant cameras will help push this into production.
