MCU theory fixes a multiverse plot hole in Loki Ending Season 2

loki Season 1 ended with a major plot twist and massive changes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that will affect upcoming movies and TV shows, but a plot loophole has given way to a theory that not only fixes this bug, but will also lay the foundation for Season 2. The MCU is now in its fourth phase, Which covers movies and TV shows, with some of the latter directly related to the former, and one of the most important TV shows to date is lokiassociated with Doctor Strange in a multiverse of madness.

loki The audience reunited with the mischief deity, but not the one who was the villain in the first stage and slowly extricated himself, but the surrogate who was still beside the mischief. Loki leading the show was the one who escaped with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame, thus creating a new schedule and attracting the attention of the Time Variation Authority (TVA), an organization that oversees the sacred schedule for the purpose of preserving it and preventing the creation of branching schedules. During his time at TVA, Loki met some of his variables, most notably Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), with whom he discovered the truth about TVA but also changed the multiverse forever.

At the end of the loki, God of Mischief and Sylvie arrive at the castle beyond the Void where they meet He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), the true creator and ruler of TVA and one of the many variants of Kang the Conqueror. Although Loki tries to stop Sylvie, she kills the He Who Remains and unleashes multiple mayhem, but not before she gets rid of Loki by bringing him back to TVA. Unfortunately for Loki, once in TVA, he was never identified by anyone, especially his ally and friend Mobius M.

Why didn’t Mobius find out Loki in the end

Moebius and Hunter B15 look at Loki.

loki He took a deeper look at the MCU concept of the “Multiverse” and explained that when the actions of a person or object deviate from the sacred timeline, a Nexus event occurs and the timeline branches off, which is what happened during the time stealing in Avengers: Endgame. Loki’s escape with the Tesseract was an event for the Nexus, so he was caught by TVA. There he met Möbius, and while they didn’t get along at first, Möbius ended up siding with him after learning some dark facts about TVA. When Sylvie sends Loki back before she kills the one who remains, Loki rushes to Möbius hoping to help him stop Sylvie, but Möbius (nor B-15) doesn’t recognize him.

This showed that the moment Sylvie sent Loki back to TVA, he landed on a different timeline, with Kang the Conqueror being the TVA leader and not hiding like He Who Remains. Mobius, then, has no memories of working alongside Loki to bring down TVA, and while that makes sense in terms of the timeline and mayhem of the multiverse covered by the MCU in Phase 4, it also creates a huge plot hole.

Mobius did not recognize Loki, he created a multiverse plot pit

Loki Episode 6 Hunter B-15 and Mobius

As noted by a reddit User, Mobius who doesn’t recognize Loki in the final episode of Season 1 actually creates a hole in the multiverse plot. loki Proving that God of Mischief is one of the most common variants, Mobius even showed Loki a series of pictures of a number of Loki variants, and of course there are those he met while in Void. The plot gap, then, is not that Möbius did not recognize his friend Loki, as he explained through the shifting timelines/universes, but that he did not recognize him at all as the god of mischief, brother of Thor, one of the more common variants there. Even if he didn’t know what Loki was talking about, Mobius should have gotten to know him for who he was, not by their past friendship, thus creating a hole in the MCU’s multiverse plot.

Theory: Loki’s new timeline is missing in major MCU events

What if Loki wins the Battle of New York in Avengers?

The same reddit The user who pointed out the MCU plot gap has an interesting suggestion: Loki may not only have landed in a different timeline, but in an entirely different universe, where the suspended mischievous mind wasn’t the same as it was in his original timeline. Loki was so well known not only for his many (mostly chaotic) variants but because he took part in some of the major MCU events throughout the Infinity Saga, most notably the Battle of New York in Avengersthe destruction of Asgard in Motorcycle rentaland the massacre of Thanos at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War. If Mobius doesn’t recognize Loki at all at the end loki Season 1, this could mean that Loki is now in a world where none of these big events have taken place or been so dramatically altered, that he wasn’t involved at all, and thus is not a standout character.

What does Möbius’ theory mean for Loki season 2

season 2

Not getting to know Mobius Loki at all at the end of the season could mean more than it might seem for Season 2. As the post’s author suggests, loki Season 2 could deal with the multiverse as more of a branch than a sacred timeline, essentially a “multiverse of madness” like the one Doctor Strange and the Scarlet Witch will soon be dealing with. However, another reddit The user points to another possibility: with He Who Remains now dead and “unlocking” the multiverse, this could have rewritten time, which is why TVA has a different history and leader, meaning other events, like the one that was Loki in it is heavily involved, as it was rewritten. Other users have pointed out that TVA is supposed to exist out of time, which makes it even weirder that Mobius won’t recognize Loki at all, hinting at several TVA’s in the MCU. loki Season 2 has a bunch of questions to answer, and sure enough, most of them will be shaped by events like the movies Dr. Gharib 2 And Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniawhich will have Kang as the main antagonist, and could expand a bit more on TVA, the multiverse itself, variants, and more, thus offering more solutions to this loki dig a hole.
