A large number of people have tried the Xbox Game Pass cloud gaming service and together they log billions of hours of game time.

Love it or hate it, cloud gaming is here to stay. So says Microsoft, which recently revealed that 10 million users – 40 percent of the number of people who subscribe to Xbox Game Pass – have given the cloud gaming part a good experience.

Big win for cloud games on Xbox Game Pass

as stated in RCR WirelessMicrosoft announced that 10 million users have provided Xbox Game Pass cloud gaming service. Collectively, they were able to save “billions of hours” of game time by streaming the game from Microsoft’s servers to their devices.

If you missed it, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate now comes with the ability to play Xbox games on the cloud. When you play a game on the Xbox Game Pass cloud, Microsoft servers do all the graphic display and send the score to your device as a stream. All you need is a strong internet connection and a compatible controller and you can play games just as you would on your console or gaming PC.

Since all your device needs to do is serve up a video feed and take console inputs, the possibilities are endless. You can stream HD games on low-end PCs, smartphones, and even your Xbox console if you’re running low on storage.

As mentioned in Microsoft’s earnings announcement at Motley assholeThe company is very pleased with the progress it has made:

Many of our most popular titles, including Flight Simulator, can now be accessed on phones, tablets, and low-spec PCs for the first time. Our Game Pass library now includes hundreds of titles across PC and console, including more games from third-party publishers than ever before. Subscribers have played billions of hours over the past 12 months, an increase of 45%. And with Azure, we’re building the best cloud for game studios of all sizes to build, host and grow their games, new capabilities, speed and time to development and to help connect gamers across platforms.

The beginning of the cloud gaming revolution?

So why do people now log billions of hours into cloud gaming? RCR Wireless believes this is due to the ongoing 5G rollout. . 5G has much better latency and bandwidth than 4G, both of which are important for gaming. Because of that, experts believe so 5G will change the way we play.

However, there is also the added advantage of playing console games on PCs. Since Microsoft’s servers run the game for you, there’s nothing to stop you from telling Xbox Game Pass to stream a console game to your PC. This means that you can enjoy console-exclusive games even if you do not own the respective console.

As such, there is a good chance that improvements in internet bandwidth, along with the luxury of playing PC and Xbox games on any device you want, will be the driving force behind the success of Xbox Game Pass cloud gaming. And if Microsoft plays its cards right, it could become the de facto choice for cloud gaming in the future.

Microsoft on Cloud Nine

With Microsoft having so much success with its Xbox Game Pass cloud gaming service, the company is committed to making use of it even more. We just have to wait and see what they will choose in the future.
