It’s almost time to find out what’s next Magic: The Gathering And the Dungeons & Dragons There is in our store. This week marks Wizards Presents, the first-ever digital show for all Wizards of the Coast.
While we don’t know exactly what will be revealed just yet, with Dominaria United kicking off the 30th anniversary of Magic, a D&D movie a few months away, and multiple video game projects in development, Wizards Presents will be one worth watching. Here’s everything you need to know about the show.
What is the processor offering?
Wizards Presents presents a presentation dedicated to Wizards of the Coast, developer of games like Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. While this isn’t the first Wizards show for either D&D or MTG, it’s the first to combine the two in a company-wide presentation.
If you’ve ever watched a Summer Game Festival or E3 presentation, you’ll be familiar with the format Wizards Presents will take. Mix of shows and trailersThe event is expected to cover MTG, D&D, and any other surprise projects the Wizards are working on.
What magic: will the objects collected in the gifts of wizards be revealed?
While the show will be Featuring Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragonsit is more likely that Magic: The Gathering will be the main focus of the show.
The only thing we can expect to see in Wizards Presents is Full Magic: The 2023 Gathering Collection. If last year’s Magic Showcase 2021 is anything to do, we should hear about all of the first four legal standard sets, plus some or all of the supplemental sets released around them – with Five groups were disclosed as a conservative estimate.
Secret Lair has become a huge part of Magic, so it would be a shock if we don’t have news At least one of the new Universes Beyond game coming in 2023. We already know that one of the complementary sets for next year will be Lord Of The Ring: Tales Of Middle-Earth, but guessing what could come next is impossible. After all, no one saw Fortnite coming until it was actually revealed at last year’s demo.
Magic: The Gathering Arena is likely to see some kind of new announcement. While we learned in a Hasbro earnings talk call that Arena is coming to Steam and consolesHowever, the Wizards of the Coast themselves have yet to give the ports a launch date or even acknowledge their existence. Release dates for them may be overly optimistic, but it is at least possible to indicate that they are in the works.
Finally, we may get more information about Show Magic Netflix, which was re-revealed at last year’s Magic Showcase. Considering we haven’t heard anything about this in the year since, and it hasn’t appeared during Geeked Week on Netflix, there’s a chance the project may have died quietly, and we’ll hear nothing of it. However, if it’s still making progress, Wizards Presents is where we’ll likely hear about.
Dominaria United event for the first time
One thing we do know included in Wizards Presents is Official unveiling of Magic: The Gathering’s next collection, Dominaria United.
Magical combos usually receive a preview season before launch that begins with their first broadcast. This stream shows the main mechanics and story beats of the group, along with a lot of new cards. After the broadcast, community members take over the action, with a week-long drip feed of new cards from the deck.
Note that Dominaria United’s debut is not part of the same set of Wizards Presents. The conference will follow next, to make sure it has the usual length and content we’ve come to expect from the start.
What dungeons and dragons will be revealed in Wizards Gifts?
for Dungeons & Dragons, what will be shown is much less clear. Dungeons & Dragons had its own D&D Direct show earlier this year, which revealed Spelljammer: Adventures In Space (launched two days before Wizards Presents) and Next Dragonlance BookDragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen.
While Magic likes to reveal things months or even years in advance, Dungeons & Dragons are generally more silent on their projects. We’ll likely get some confirmation on releases in the first half of 2023, but anything after that will be a lot more murky.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is almost guaranteed to appear as the movie, starring Chris Pine and Regé-Jean Page, is slated to release in March. We just saw the first full movie trailer at San Diego Comic Con, but this Doesn’t necessarily mean we won’t get another one during Wizards Presents.
Video games are also a growing part of D&D, which means we can see ads for MMO Neverwinter (as we did at D&D Direct), or even something from the many development studios that Wizards have set up in recent years.
What time does wizards offer, and where can I view it?
Wizards Presents starts at 12:00 Pacific Time (16:00 UTC) on Thursday, August 18th.
While the event is pre-recorded, it will be shown live on both Magic: The Gathering Twitch And the Youtube channels Dungeons and Dragons Twitch And the Youtube channels. The show will be launched on official channels shortly after it airs for those who miss the ability to watch it live.
