The Miami Heat have been linked with a number of players this season. They couldn’t get Kevin Durant or Donovan Mitchell through the trade despite knowing their interest. They were rumored to be interested in LaMarcus Aldridge and even getting Jae Crowder for a reunion with the former Heat Starter team. However, Crowder isn’t the only Heat favorite who has found himself once again tied to the franchise. After a post went viral on social media from Jimmy Butler, fans are demanding a reunion with a former Heat senior man.
Jimmy Butler ignites Kelly Olinick’s rumors
Jimmy Butler posted a photo of his Instagram story with former Heat player Kelly Olynyk with the two having dinner. The image was quickly captured on the screen and shared on Twitter by brady hook With the appropriate caption, “Jamie is here recruiting whales again with that hole in the fourth” the photo was shared with Butler’s 7.4 million followers on Instagram.
Brady Hawk has indicated that he might be recruiting Butler to fill in the hole in the powerhouse forward position left by PJ Tucker’s departure to the Philadelphia 76ers. Olynik played three and a half seasons with the Miami Heat and averaged an astonishing 10 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in his best season in South Beach.
Olynyk also fits in well with Pam Adebayo defensively. At one time it was a duo first place Among the 101 lineups made up of players who have played at least 250 minutes for a month in basketball, are in the NBA. While at one point the two came together in a solid defensive lineup, Olynyk is certainly not the defender that Tucker or even another former Heat player associated with Heat at Jay Crowder.
It’s important to note that Olinick is currently under contract with the Detroit Pistons, so a move remains unlikely unless the Heat trades with the three-point veteran. Even if it was a free agent, The Heat wouldn’t be able to sign it because of the salary cap and luxury tax reasons.
Heat is unable to sign free agents
Earlier this season, the Heat beat writer and reporter Ira Winderman of The Sun Guardian was asked about the possibility of re-signing their veteran striker Markiv Morris after he struggled with injuries throughout last season, and Winderman reports that all of the Heat’s moves depend on Odonis Haslem’s situation.
Q: Is the door still open for Markieve Morris? – Ted.
A: It’s up to Odonis Haslam. If Haslem returns for the 20th season of the Heat, he will fill 14th place on the Heat’s record roster and put the Heat very close to the luxury tax to add another player. At this point, Haslem basically controls whether the door is open to anyone else, except for a deal that sends more players than they are brought in,” Winderman Books.
Haslem eventually committed to returning to South Beach in his 20th NBA season, a goal of his, and cemented the Heat’s roster unless they made a deal to get other players, but the move suggested the team would bring her back next season.
