Although the core of the “Bachelor” franchise lies in finding love, it has also dealt with its fair share of social issues, including drug and alcohol addiction. However, there is another type of addiction that was not discussed until recently within the scope of the franchise: sex addiction.

Rieger explained, “Men have been very good at telling me what I want to hear. My love language is affirmation. So, when a guy was telling me what I wanted to hear, I thought ‘Wow, this guy really loves me.’ So, it was about feeling beautiful, And feeling validated, feeling more loved than actually having sex.”
This does not mean that Rygier is not interested in sex. She admitted to Ben & Liam that she’s always had a strong sex drive, and she still does. However, instead of treating sex as a “hobby,” she’s waiting to be intimate with someone with whom she feels a real connection.

Rieger explained, “When he pushed me down the stairs and locked me in the garage, my eyes were black and they thought my hand was broken. It was really bad. I went to work and they sent me home. The police came and said he had scratched his arm from my throat, and after I tried to get him away from me, We could both go to prison for domestic violence.”
Rygier called this experiment the “tipping point.” She started counseling and engaged in a great deal of self-exploration trying to figure out the source of her behaviors. “I’ve never been so self-aware,” she told the Daily Mail. “The minute I walked out, I was like, ‘Where’s the hot guy? “Sex is the only addiction I fell into because it made me feel love. Love is really what I miss in my life.”
Although the recovery journey wasn’t easy, Rieger says that once she decided to change, it happened fairly quickly. “I will have sex again but with someone I have a connection with,” she told Ben & Liam.
