Tobias Harris #12, Therese Maxi #0, James Harden #1, and Joel Embiid #21 of the Philadelphia 76ers pose for a photo during media day at the 76ers training complex.

Expectations rise for the Philadelphia 76ers as they progress through training camp. It has been a successful trip to Charleston as the team focuses on the 2022-23 season. ESPN reporter Tim Bontemps has become the latest member of the media to fan the flames of their bloated potential. After taking a trip to a training camp to get a personal look at the roster, it certainly appears that his perception of the team has changed positively. while in The latest episode of Brian Windhorst and Hoop Collective PodcasR., Bontemps said the following:

“This (Sixers) team, after being around for a few days, are feeling really good about themselves and I think they will win a good number of regular games in the season and be one of the top two seeders in the East”- Tim Bontemps (ESPN).

The conversation about The Sixers continued as Bontempts and Windhorst both expressed their approval for James Harden to work in the off-season and excited about the season he could have.

Eastern Conference Rankings

It wouldn’t be an easy road to get to the top two ranks of the Eastern Conference. Several teams in the East have made notable moves this off-season to increase their chances next season. This includes the Cleveland Cavaliers Trading Donovan MitchellHawks Trading for Dejounte Murray, and the Knicks added Jalen Brunson in free agency.

The contenders from last season should also not be forgotten. After reaching the NBA Finals with their main stars aged between 24 and 25 only, the Celtics met their biggest needs and Malcolm Brogdon added to solve their problems. Nor can the Milwaukee Bucks be forgotten as Chris Middleton returns from injury and Giannis Anticotambo remains at his prime. The Brooklyn Nets also have a chance now that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are officially ready to play and Ben Simmons is expected to return to the field.

Sixers Chance in the East

This does not change the perceived opportunities the Sixers had to increase their chances of success. Given the prospects of the Eastern Conference, Philadelphia currently has Fourth best odds To finish the season on top of the East. The Celtics, Bucks, and Nets are all the more favored to break out of the East.

The biggest potential success factors for the Sixers are Joel Embiid’s health, Tyrese Maxey’s growth, and whether James Harden is able to enjoy the bounce season. The franchise did a great job upgrading the bench unit which was a major weakness last season. Extras De’Anthony Melton, PJ Tucker, Montrezl Harrell and Danuel House are sure to play major roles on the team.

There is still a lot to see from this Sixers when they take the field this season. The franchise ended in the top seed in the East during the 2020-21 season but regressed to the fourth seed last season. Their focus will certainly be on post-season success, but having an effective regular season sets the stage for that. Philadelphia hasn’t been able to get past a second-round plateau throughout the Embiid era, and that’s still certain to be the biggest measure of the team’s success in the upcoming 2022-23 season.
