The ease and convenience of downloading games digitally has led to a massive increase in digital game sales over the past few years. And with the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition not including a disc drive at all, those sales will continue to rise.
But with a console filled with hundreds of digital-only titles, it’s easy to lose track of the games you have. Players need a logical way to sort their titles to avoid losing them in the backlog forever. This is where game listings come in.
What are the lists of games on PS5?
Game listings on PS5 allow you to create folders to help you easily sort your games. These folders are fully customizable, so you can sort your games however you like.
You can rename your game lists to sort your titles by genre, release year, or even what you want to play next. You can have up to 15 game lists, each containing up to 100 games.
By default, your games will be displayed in a list format on your PS5. Categorizing your games in folders like this prevents you from scrolling through your entire library to find a single game. And the less time you spend searching for your games, the more time you have to play them!
So if you want to create game lists to keep your PS5 games organized, here’s how.
How to create a list of games
The first thing you should do before creating your game lists to organize your PS5 is to make sure your console is up to date. The Game List feature was not available at launch, so if you haven’t updated your console since its introduction, you may not be able to take advantage of this feature.
To update your PS5, press the PS button on your console and scroll to Downloads / Uploads. If an update is available, select it and follow the onscreen instructions to install the update.

Once you have successfully updated your PS5, follow the instructions below to curate your lists of games.
- Open your library by going to your homepage, swiping right, and selecting game library.
- Scroll to the right and select your group.
- select file Create a list of games on the left side of the screen.
- Browse your games, choose the games you want to put in your list, and press Add.
- Enter a name for your game list and confirm it to create your folder.
- To edit the name of your game list, hover over the list and press the Options button on your console.
- Choose Name editing.
Your game lists will appear at the top of the screen when you view your collection, so you can easily access them.
How to add and remove games from the game list
PS5 game lists have been created with customization in mind. So making any changes to the game list, like adding or removing games, for example, is very simple. If you want to add a game to your folder, open the list of games you want to edit and select File + icon on the left side.
To remove a game, mouse over it, press the burger button on your console, then select Remove from game list. You can also play or delete games from within this menu.
