The former Formula 1 driver takes on the NASCAR Xfinity Series


Daniil Kvyat will appear for the first time in another NASCAR series.

Sam Hunt Racing has used several drivers during the Xfinity Series seasons 2020, 2021 and 2022. Now this list will include the former Formula 1 driver who will make his series debut.

Sam Hunt Racing announced on September 29 that Daniil Kvyat will take over the #26 Toyota GR Supra over the weekend in Charlotte Roval. He will become the ninth driver to drive the #26 Toyota, a list that also includes Jeffrey Earnhardt and John Hunter Nemeczyk as examples.

Kvyat made his first two NASCAR appearances during the 2022 season. He joined Team Hezeberg on trips to Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Watkins Glen International. He finished 36th in each event while driving the #26 Toyota Camry TRD. The trip to Indiana, in particular, ended early because of the suspension issue.

Kyvat already noticed on Twitter He is going to have a busy weekend in Charlotte Ruffale. He said he will race both the Xfinity and Cup Series races. This means that he will join the Hezeberg team again.

The NASCAR Roster portal and weekly entry list will provide this information after the race ends this weekend at the Talladega Superspeedway. They would also confirm whether Loris Heismans would fit in with the organization as well.

Kvyat will become the latest driver to take control of the #26 Toyota GR Supra during the 2022 season, and bring on-road experience to entry. This includes the podium in three Formula 1 races.

Kvyat placed second overall at the 2015 Pirelli Hungarian Grand Prix, third at the Pirelli Chinese Grand Prix 2016, and third at the 2019 Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix in Germany.

Kvyat will now attempt to join the list of drivers with the top 20 Sam Hunt Racing finals during the Xfinity Series road track races. One example is Conor Mossack, who finished 15th at Watkins Glen International as he led the entry.

The list also includes John Hunter Nemeczyk’s 18th at Road America, Santino Ferrucci’s 17th at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Parker Chase’s 19th at Circuit of the Americas.

Chase also had a chance to secure the top 20 at the Portland International Raceway, but a crash saw him finish 27th in the rainy event.

Kvyat will join another driver in his debut series

There will be several drivers making their debut during the race weekend at Charlotte Roval. One of them will join Kvyat in the Xfinity Series lineup as he leads a team that achieves one win in 2022.

Big Machine Racing announced August 7 that IndyCar Series veteran Marco Andretti will be driving the #48 Chevrolet Camaro at Charlotte Roval. He will make his NASCAR debut while bringing his road cycle experience to the stock car.

In addition, IndyCar Series veteran Conor Daly will be making his Cup Series debut. He will join Floyd Mayweather’s TMT Racing team this weekend at Charlotte Roval and drive the 50th Chevrolet Camaro with BitNile as his primary partner.
