James Harden is set to play his first game in Brooklyn since the trade.
It’s been a whirlwind of a year for the Brooklyn Nets, and in that time they saw the Big Three of James Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving crumble when Harden was shipped to the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons.
Harden went on to help the Sixers make a playoff that ended in the second round while Simmons wasn’t a good fit for the Nets and were eliminated by a first-round sweep by Eastern Conference champion Boston Celtics.
The Sixers and Nets played during the regular season after the trade, but the showdown happened in Philadelphia, so Brooklyn fans never got their chance to cheer or boo Harden.
It is not clear what will happen during October 3 match Considering it’s just a pre-season game, Harden isn’t worried.
Hardening Voices Off
Days before the pre-season game, Harden was asked about the game, but he downplayed it by saying it was just pre-season.
“Nah, I mean…it’s just a pre-season game,” Said via Keith Pompey.
Fans don’t tend to get all that pre-season exaggeration, so he’s definitely right in the assessment, but it’s still a huge moment. Nets fans have a few things to watch during this Nets-Sixers game as it also means Simmons will make his Brooklyn debut.
Simmons was originally expected to be back in time in last season’s playoff round, but the setback caused him to miss the entire season and he He underwent back surgery after the season ends.
Fast forward to October, and he looks healthy and ready to go. It will be a big season for him as he works to prove that he still deserves to be called one of the best players in the league, and the Nets are sure to expect a lot from him.
Simmons for the first time
Simmons will be used in many different ways for the Nets in the upcoming season, and it will be interesting to see how it all works out.
Coach Steve Nash has talked about playing Simmons in the center, has called him up in some formations, and that has the potential to create an explosive lineup with a big ball-handling guy running the show.
Many teams will struggle with this, and that may be the advantage the Nets need to beat some of the league’s notable top players, including Sixers star Joel Embiid. He runs the net with Nick Claxton as the starting center, but there’s not much depth behind him so they’ll have to get creative.
Ultimately, Simmons will likely see the brunt of his minutes come at the vantage point, and if he’s able to consistently set the table for Durant and Irving while playing a solid defense as well, the Nets should be fine. Brooklyn will have to hope the Simmons doesn’t show a patch of rust after spending more than a year away from the game, but that’s the purpose of these pre-season games. the least that is said of the least that is said of the least that is said of the least that can be said of the least that can be said of the least that is said of the least that is said of the least that is said of the least that is said of the least that is said of to say the least for the least to say the least for the least to say the least for the least to say the least it will be an exciting year for Nets fans it will be an exciting year for Nets fans to be a year Exciting Nets fans.
