Wakanda Forever Trailer reaction: Internet reacts to new Black Panther actor

New Trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever It was dropped today (October 3, 2022), and broke the news (more or less) about who would take on the titular role, following the death of the late Chadwick Boseman. The selection divided opinions online, with some Marvel fans excited to see how things went, and others disappointed that the MCU didn’t go in a different direction. Here’s the reaction to the trailer and the new Black Panther rep.

Wakanda Forever trailer reaction: Who is the new Black Panther actor?

The end of the new Black Panther trailer: Wakanda Forever confirms that Shuri is taking on the mantle of the Wakandan superhero. While we don’t get to look at Letitia Wright’s face under the mask, the eye makeup matches what her character wears when it’s not appropriate. While Danai Gurira’s Nakia Lupita Nyong’o or Okoye may both be hiding under the costume, it would be strange if they would adopt Shuri’s style of styling it. A new poster for the film was also revealed, placing Shuri front and center, cementing her as the lead for the film.

Some are excited to see what Shuri could do with the new tech suit, but others wanted a different approach, with one Twitter user writing that those “anti-fax… are not worthy of multi-year contracts in the world’s largest franchise.” This refers to the actress, Letitia Wright, and her stance on the COVID-19 vaccine. Another person swung toward the star, writing: “It is very unfortunate that the tech genius Shuri plays the role of someone so far from science.”

However, the positive feedback, at the moment, far outweighs the negative. One MCU fan said the new Black Panther costume was “beautiful” and “perfect,” while another said the reveal left them “in tears.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrives in cinemas November 11, 2022.

In other news, She-Hulk episode 7 introduced Man-Bull, El Aguila, Porcupine, and Saracen to the MCU, and actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman confirmed Logan is canon following the announcement of Deadpool 3 and Wolverine on Twitter.
