He remained in the position for 12 years before training for two years at Coffee. Chrissy coached two state championship teams in Colbert County in 1979 and 1985. He finished his coaching career with four seasons at Mountain Brook.
Chrissy has also coached in two statewide All-Star games and one Alabama and Mississippi All-Star game. He was named Alabama High School Coach in 1972 and 1985. Don Creasy was inducted into the AHSAA Hall of Fame in 1998.

Tuscumbia Mayor Keri Underwood, who played under Don Creasy in 1983 and 1984 in Colbert County, paid respects to the late soccer coach.
“It is a sad day for many of Chrissy’s players,” Underwood said in a statement.
“We share a unique bond that will always center around the man who has demanded excellence in every game, every practice, and every game. We are all better men because of his influence. We will miss him dearly.”
