Udonis Haslam on Jimmy Butler

Haslem . was Asked by ESPN’s Malika Andrews What has cost Hit star Jimmy Butler the upcoming season, Haslem took the opportunity to share his relationship with Butler and that while they bumped into heads, there is a bond between them.

“I see a lot of myself in Jimmy. We play the game with controlled anger, and every now and then that controlled anger gets out of hand. But we made coffee together. You know, we really bonded. I have a barista pass, so you know I’m a good coffee guy.” …but you know, we’re very similar. We play one-on-one every day before every game. That’s what people don’t know. Like, what people don’t know that night, that’s only every Tuesday in Miami. Like, we hit heads every day. It’s Competing at the highest level and the highest level. That’s another way I know I can survive. If I can go out there and compete with Jimmy Butler, which is what people see what he can do in the Finals, I know I can still go on and play this game,” Haslem told Malika Andrews On the October 14, episode of NBA Today on ESPN.

Haslem even mentioned his argument with Butler that happened last April during a match and noted that it happens with these two people all the time, but that’s because of their similarities. The two bonded over coffee after Butler launched his iconic icon Big Face Coffee Company During the NBA bubble. He even shared that the two play one-on-one regularly, and from the sound of it, the veteran holds his own against Butler.

Haslem On Next In Line For Heat Culture

In sharing who he hopes will pass the Heat Culture torch to him when he leaves the Heat, he named Pam Adebayo as the ideal candidate.

“I want to pass the torch to Bam [Adebayo] As the next bearer of culture,” Haslem says. “I want to continue to shape and help Jimmy to be the hero he deserves to be. And I just want to leave this locker room headed in the right direction.”

When Haslem chooses to retire, he has made it clear that he hopes to find a place in the Heat’s property group as his next class.
