Joel Embiid #21 and James Harden #1 of the Philadelphia 76ers during play against the Miami Heat in Game Six of the 2022 NBA Conference Semifinals at Wells Fargo Center on May 12, 2022 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
There has been quite a bit of interest in James Harden’s finances this off season. The Philadelphia 76er’s star goalkeeper chose to cut his salary and opt out of the $47.4 million player option to give the team more financial flexibility. This allowed the Sixers to make notable rotation additions such as PJ Tucker, Montrezl Harrell, and Danuel House. While Harden deserves a lot of credit for making that first team decision, in fact, he admitted he doesn’t think it’s been adequately acknowledged, he’s clearly doing well in financial management.
According to the latest ratings from SporticoHarden found himself eighth among all NBA players in Top Players of the Year:
Harden ends off the field
Three time scoring champion and 2018 best player has never been to stay in the area of being a basketball player. He’s made some waves with his shocking fashion choices, which is what’s coming out with him Countless celebrities and musicians, and has been known to unwind at some of the most popular nightlife spots.
Harden also has a profile A variety of business posts Out of court that contributed to his fortune. He’s been one of the faces of adidas since 2015 and signed a 13-year contract worth up to $200 million. Harden also owns an ownership stake in Bodyarmour, which received significant compensation when Coca-Cola bought the company in 2021. He also owns a 15% ownership stake in the Houston Dynamo at MLS. Companies like GoPuff, Vanguard, Therabody, Block Inc, and Pura are also listed as sponsors for the star.
This all adds up to his NBA salary which he is still doing well at. He may have decided opt out of the $47.4 million player option, But The Sixers still found room under the salary cap to seal Harden with a two-year deal totaling $68.6 million.
Harden on the field
It’s impressive to see how Harden has already amassed a generational fortune in his career, but Sixers fans will be more interested in his performances on the field when the season begins. There have been some positive signs emerging in pre-season as the star looks to regain some of his momentum and ability to create a breakup and move on.
It was a modification of Harden who had never played with a talented, ball-controlled big man like Joel Embiid. The offense is built around creating an elite shot for the two stars. In the limited time they spent together last season, they were the number one ranked pick-and-roll duo. This will continue to be the core of the Sixers attack with add-ons like Tucker making it even more dynamic. Look at this pre-season play where Tucker acts as a roll man and creates an open three-pointer for Tyrese Maxey- who shoots 57.6% on three corner attempts Last season.
There has been a great deal of interest in Harden’s scoring ability, but his game industry will remain the most important part of his game. Harden is the only natural playmaker in the Sixers list and above with the most talented players in this region ever. He is one of only seven players in NBA history to have led the league in both scoring and passing throughout their career. While his body may have taken a step back, his basketball IQ continued to grow.
If Harden can maintain this elite level in the playmaking industry while becoming a bit more proficient at scoring, the Sixers will be satisfied with his play. Sometimes criticism is too much for a player still Average 21.0 points, 10.5 assists and 7.1 rebounds per game last year. Given Maxey’s growth and Embiid’s high-profile play, there will be nights when Harden is the Sixers’ third-best player perfectly fine.
The two-year contract also has a player option included in Season 2, so don’t be surprised if similar contract negotiations happen outside of next season. With an entire season to get healthy and in better shape, his play could require a bigger payout going forward. Harden initially set the team on his way to the season, but he may look to climb up the annual earnings list in 2023-24.
