How to get the Shiny Enchantment in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

One of the greatest delights of any Pokémon game is encountering a shiny Pokémon for the first time. In the latest Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, that feeling is no different. With over 100 new Pokemon added to this installment, getting your hands shiny can seem impossible. Fortunately, there is an item introduced that can help your chances of finding them: Shiny charm. Unfortunately, you can’t get this item until you’ve completed the one thing the entire Pokémon series is known for. You have to catch them all.

Once you’ve completely filled your Paldean Pokédex, you can talk to it Professor Jack back in Naranja Academy. He’ll commend you for your efforts by awarding you with your Certificate and a Shiny Charm!

How much Shine Enchantment increases your chances of finding Shine in scarlet and purple Pokemon?

While some may disagree, finding a shiny Pokemon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is not as difficult as it might seem. Unlike some previous installments, you can physically see that Pokémon is shiny before you engage it in battle. Given this, the odds of finding a shiny Pokemon in the wild or by breeding are about 1/4000, according to Professor Jack himself. Once you obtain the Brilliant Enchantment, these chances will increase to about 1/2000, which is about half!
