National Pokédex is an important feature for longtime fans of the series because it allows you to capture and capture Pokémon from regions outside of the one you’re currently playing in. It’s basically an upgrade to the regional Pokédex that continue the adventure long after you’ve beaten the game. Unfortunately, if it’s left out of the title, that means there’s a definitive limit to the Pokémon available to you. As of generation nine, there are approximately 1,000 Pokémon throughout the franchise. These include new, unprecedented species and regional developments. So, this begs the question, will the National Pokédex be shown in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Why isn’t the National Pokédex in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?
As more Pokémon are announced and the number of Pokédex entries increases, the demand for national Pokédex in each major batch becomes more apparent. Unfortunately, the limitations of the Nintendo Switch and the huge amount of new and old Pokémon make it difficult to fit it all in. While it would be a great addition to the newest Pokémon Scarlett and Violet, the task of including each monster as well as their unique traits such as nature and IV in the game is quite impressive.
However, you will be able to take advantage of the Pokémon HOME support to transfer Pokémon at some point in the near future. This feature will allow you to transfer your Pokémon from Scarlet and Violet to the Pokémon HOME as well as trade other Pokémon in the Paldea region.
