Wednesday Season 1: Where did they film the series?

Cantacuzino Castle in Buşteni, Romania served as the setting for a number of exterior shots of Nevermore Academy, the show’s most exciting location.

After its completion in 1911, the castle was initially used as a summer retreat for the family of Prince Grigor Cantacuzino.

Today, however, the public is welcome to visit the castle. In 1948, the government took it over and converted it into a medical facility run by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

In an interview with NME, Emma Myers, who portrays Enid Sinclair on Wednesday, shared her thoughts on the site.

She said, “There were really nice swings on the outside of the castle that a lot of us went to play between [takes]. “

I made repeated attempts to escape in order to investigate the situation, but as it turned out, I could not go far.

Production designer Mark Scruton stated the following in an interview with GoldDerby: “There was a center column [Burton] I really caught that kind of Addams Family vibe without it being a direct comparison and I think that was the backbone of everything else.”

Bucharest Film Studios, also called Buftea Studios, is another location that was used for filming. These studios are located in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

For more than 60 years, the production company has worked in both the film and television industries, producing films such as “The Voyagers” and “The Devil Inside” in 2012.

Bușteni, Romania

The majority of filming took place between 2021 and 2022 in Buşteni, a small mountain village in Romania.

The majority of filming took place during the winter season, which added an extra air of desolation to the already desolate filming locations.

Cantacuzino Castle

The Cantacuzino Castle in Buşteni, which was built in 1911 in neo-Romanesque style, serves as the primary venue for the show and is known as the Academy of Nevermore.

The castle was commissioned by Prince Gheorghe Grigor Cantacuzino, who used it as his residence until the 1930s.

After the end of World War II, it was first restored and then made available to the general public after passing into the ownership of the Ministry of Home Affairs for a period of time.

In modern times, in addition to the many sculptures and artwork on display inside the castle and throughout the grounds, there are also two restaurants and an adventure park for guests with children.

Bucharest city, Romania

Filming also took place in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

The exterior scenes of Nevermore Academy were filmed at Cantacuzino Castle, while the interior scenes were filmed in Bucharest at Casa Monteroo, a mansion constructed in the 1870s.

Both locations are about 85 miles apart.

Bucharest Botanical Garden

The crew moved again, this time staying within Bucharest at the Bucharest Botanical Garden in order to work on the greenhouses at Nevermore.

In 1884, 18 hectares of land were set aside to become a botanical garden, and the garden was not opened to the public until 1891.

Gara Regala Sinaia Resort, Prahova Valley, Romania

The Royal Train Station, also known as Gara Regala, is located in the Sinaia resort of Prahova Valley, Romania.

We are back in Bossini with the aim of shooting outdoor scenes that are supposed to take place near Nevermore.

This time, we’re in the mountain town of Sinaia, which is a well-known skiing destination in the winter.

The city’s train station was previously only accessible to the royal family and their invited guests. Its name is Gara Regala.

Are you looking for something spooky and weird to read during the holiday season? Look no further than Wednesday on Netflix! Nevermore is a boarding school for misfits, and the main character of the teen series The Addams Family will attend it, Wednesday.

The Addams Family teen series will consist of eight episodes. Although she initially opposes the move, once a series of assaults and murders begin, she quickly finds her place among the group.

As she takes it upon herself to investigate the mystery, we accompany her on her journey around her new school, meeting her new friends, teachers, and even potential romantic interests as she searches.

Wednesday is a show that I would recommend to people of all ages because I found each episode incredibly entertaining.

We won’t be giving anything away here, but if you’re interested in listening to the brand-new show’s soundtrack, you can see a list of every song sorted by episode below.

Wednesday: Soundtrack on Spotify

Yes, anyone with a Spotify account can go to the Spotify website or app at this moment and listen to the original soundtrack, which features compositions by Danny Elfman and Chris Bacon.

The soundtrack features a whopping 48 tracks and offers viewers and listeners the ability to recreate the experience of watching the series by including all the original music tracks that appeared at various points throughout the episodes.

Tim and Danny have worked together on a number of projects in the past, including Edward Scissorhands, Batman, and The Nightmare Before Christmas, to name a few. Danny is a frequent collaborator.

Wednesdays on Netflix was created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and episodes of the show were directed by Tim Burton, James Marshall, and Gandja Morteiro.

The show features a variety of both scary and not-so-scary music, with contributions from Chris Bacon and themes by Danny Elfman. However, there are a lot of recognizable songs out there as well.

To say that Wednesday’s soundtrack is eclectic would be an understatement. It features everything from timeless, guitar-shredding anthems like The Rolling Stones’ “Paint It, Black” and Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” to contemporary pop tunes like Dua Lipa’s “Physical.”

Wednesday’s cello, which you play furiously, contributes in many ways to the overall sound of the piece. In addition, she plays scrambled and static records on the phonograph, which is also in her room.

A number of spooky operas peppered throughout Wednesday’s set, as well as songs like “La Llorona” and “Tierra Rica,” which pay homage to Wednesday’s Latin background.

When asked about the experience of writing the song “Not Alone” for the Devotion album, Joe Jonas called it “exciting but also overwhelming”.
