
No. 13 Kansas State upsets No. 2 Kansas in dramatic fashion, securing an 83-82 win in overtime thanks to an alley-game winning tackle from Wildcats forward Keyontae Johnson. Here’s what you need to know:
- Johnson scored the final five points for Kansas State on Tuesday, with the game-winning dunk remaining with 24 seconds of overtime remaining.
- This loss ends a 10-game winning streak for the Jayhawks and is the first loss in the Big 12 Conference this season.

Kansas led 70-69 with 1:42 left in the second half before Kansas State came back to even the score at 72 at the end of regulation. Johnson and Daisy Sales combined for nine of the Wildcats’ 11 points in overtime.
Johnson led Kansas State with 24 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block. Seals added 24 points, four rebounds and three steals off the bench for the Wildcats. Jayhawks forward Jalen Wilson scored 38 points, nine rebounds and two blocks in a losing effort.
Despite the upset, both teams walk away from this rivalry game with an identical 16-2 overall record and 5-1 record in conference. Kansas will host No. 14 TCU, which is one of two losses to Kansas State, on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET. The Wildcats host Texas Tech on Saturdays at 2 p.m. ET.
