Titled “Closer to Home”, Review, Plot, Cast, Supernatural’s Mythology

It’s never easy to predict whether the past will return in good or bad ways, but for Winchesters, it’s both.

In The Winchesters Season 1 Episode 8, Mary, John, and Millie keep an eye on Samuel after his unexpected return in the previous episode, but different feelings develop.

Meanwhile, someone from Carlos’ past appears and causes trouble as Carlos and Lata look into the death of a musician, but some familiar faces return in unexpected ways.

The Winchesters Season 1 Episode 8 “Closer Home”

Deep feelings are being stirred now that Samuel has returned, and the fact that he’s still in recovery doesn’t help.

In The Winchesters Season 1 Episode 7, Gil McKinney plays Henry from Supernatural again, but Samuel does not. I really wouldn’t mind after seeing Tom Welling portray him in an episode.

We managed to locate him.

Fans of the original Supernatural series are aware that Mitch Pileggi played Mary’s father, Sam and Dean’s grandfather, in a number of episodes. Tom Welling now holds this position.

Since the outcome will be the same no matter who plays what, it doesn’t have to make sense.

Mary’s confrontation with her father over her abandonment and loss was traumatic, but necessary for her because it allowed both the audience and her father to realize how far she had come since the pilot.

Although she was happy to see her father again, she was filled with resentment that he was gone. In addition, he knew about Akrida but neglected to tell her.

She always acted in character when it came to her father. She made an effort to stay focused on the investigation, but also found herself unable to control her anger at Samuel for what he had done.

Well, not everyone enjoys fighting monsters. I guess fighting monsters is not for everyone.

The fact that John’s father was a man of letters was another factor that Samuel did not particularly appreciate.

We already knew from Supernatural that hunters and the Men of Letters didn’t always get along, and Samuel’s attitude towards them in this episode, even calling Henry his “mole man,” reflects that.

This includes a brief interaction between him and Millie, who is still wary of anything to do with hunting and does not want her son to become like his father.

I really think Millie’s eyes were opened to the world of hunting after she managed to get some level of closure with Henry in the previous episode.

It might be interesting to watch if there are more scenes between the two parents as she is protective of Henry and hates what he called Samuel while noting that her husband is alive indicates that she is gradually giving in.

It was great to delve deeper into Samuel and Mary’s relationship and their divergent views on hunting because we got to see some of it on Supernatural.

The Winchesters’ Season 1 Episode 8: Review

  • Mary reconnects with her father, while Carlos does the same with someone from his past. As a result, Carlos actually catches fire.
  • Carlos’ reunion with a former bandmate and friend opens up a whole new world we didn’t even realize existed.
  • It’s like staring into a fun house mirror to see how different my life was.
  • Carlos uses a cape. It’s like staring into a fun house mirror to see how different my life could be.
Carlos’ military experience and some of his hunting experience are known to us.
  • Now that we know more about what he did when he wasn’t working, it almost cost him something.
  • Plus, that speech brought back a character familiar to superhero fans, who tied everything together.
  • Richard Speight Jr. is back to play naughty Loki again, and he’s as cunning and cunning as ever.
  • Carlos didn’t know if there was a way to break Loki’s curse, which made him feel as though he had to surrender to save Jericho.
  • I won’t let you hit me!
  • Although what he did was in keeping with his tendency to stand up for friends at all costs, I wish we had learned more about his musical history as well as his military experience.
  • However, it was a pleasure to see Richard Speight, Jr. again.
  • I’m interested to know if it comes back and what additional damage it will do. Does this mean that when Sam and Dean first met, he was fully aware of their identities? Like Gabriel even? Is it just Loki this time, or is there Gabriel?
  • Although the conclusion of the story seemed a bit hasty, Loki is a character we will see again.
  • On the plus side, Carlos was able to get close to Jericho without having to worry about him being completely burned to death.
  • Who knows what the Winchesters have in store for us next? I noticed that the past appears regularly in the show.

Season 1 of The Winchesters: Dean Is Back

Was he an individual in the future? Fan favorite from Supernatural? Will it be a completely new person?

When she learns that Dean has already given the letter to his father, she is startled and relieved.

What all this means is the biggest question this raises, among many others.

It’s possible that Dean was able to travel to the past before the Supernatural finale and wanted to witness it all because he was telling his parents’ story.

The Winchesters’ Season 1 Episode 8: Plot

For this first part of the popular, long-running series, superhero writer Robbie Thompson teams up with superhero stars Jensen Ackles and Daniel Ackles.

John and Mary, the parents of Sam and Dean, came before them. THE WINCHESTERS is the epic little-known love story of how John Winchester met the Winchesters and risked everyone to save not only their love but the entire planet.

It is told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester (Ackles). After serving in Vietnam, John returns home and embarks on a new mission to learn more about his father’s past.

He meets Mary, a 19-year-old demon hunter who is also searching for answers regarding the loss of her father during his journey.

To discover the untold stories of each of their families, the two team up with young apprentice fisherman Latica and laid-back fisherman Carlos.

Their search takes them to a rare bookstore, whose owner, Ada, has an interest in the occult and may be able to fill in the gaps of a puzzle.

Although John’s mother Millie does her best to prevent her son from pursuing a dangerous career as a demon hunter, the secrets run deep for both the Winchesters and the Campbells, and John and Mary resolve to work together to uphold their family traditions while also starting a family of their own.

The Winchesters Season 1 Episode 8: Legends Of The Supernatural

Ackles stated in an interview with Variety that he paid great attention to how to make the show flow without disturbing the established narrative of Supernatural.

“When COVID hit, we were idly chatting, saying things like, ‘You know what would be cool? In order to hit the plot points we established on Supernatural while also getting you from point A to point B to point C to point D in a really unexpected way, what if we traveled back in time and actually watched the story of Mom and Dad and how they met? He told the webpage.

Then, we figured out a way to continue the narrative in a way that would surprise the audience while also finding it difficult to go back to the mythology that had already been built. Although drawing the map is a challenge, we try our best.”
