Genshin Impact uses chess pieces as common motifs, and you’ll find one example of this while exploring the giant chessboard at Safhe Shatranj. Missing pieces in the area can be filled in with chess pieces similar to the main locations in the Sumeru Desert region. Collecting all five can be used to unlock a global quest called Apocalypse Lost, as well as a giant chessboard puzzle.
All of these chess pieces can be collected from gorgeous chests while completing the Dirge of Bilqis quest chain and the follow-up quest Tadhla the Falcon. Check your inventory because you may already have it.
All Five Chess Pieces Locations in Sumeru Desert – Genshin Effect
Column of King Desherit
You must complete the temple where the sand flows like tears to get to this chess piece, which is located in Lelobar’s cell. To get there, start from the chessboard at Safhe Shatranj and head north to find a triangular-shaped passage. Enter and follow the path forward until you reach the edge of the cliff.
From the edge of the cliff, slide down into the tunnel on the left. This will take you directly to Lilobar’s cell.
You will find a file Wonderful box at the foot of the tree. Loot it to get the chess piece called King Deshret’s Pillar.

Fort Border
You must complete Dune Fertility: Part 1 to access this chess piece, located in an underground area on the outskirts of Mount Damavand. start from Underground teleport waypoint Close up of the short bluff in the photo above. Once you’re in the area, look ahead to find a doorway that leads inside – enter the ruin to continue.
Once inside the ruin, follow the path forward and enter the cave behind the obelisk. Slide down and turn right to enter another area.
You will discover a file Wonderful box next to the mechanism. Loot it to get the chess piece called Border Fort.

Solvery
You have to complete Fertility Pointed Dune: Part Two to access this chess piece, which is located in an underground area called the Falcon House. Go to Underground teleport waypoint West Sands three channels. You will discover a big way forward.
Enter the path to locate Wonderful box waiting for you. Loot it to get the Solviere chess piece.
outside Nisot
You must complete Dune Fertility: Part III to access this chess piece. Go to Underground teleport waypoint West of Wadi Shin Majroh. Use your four Leaf Sigils to travel to the other side of the terrain, where you will find a large entrance leading to Inner Ruin.
Once inside, you will immediately discover a Wonderful box in the middle of the clearing. Loot it to get the chess piece called Khaj Nesut.
Garabad Temple
After completing the entire The Dirge of Bilqis quest thread, wait 1 day in real time or until the server resets to unlock a new quest thread, starting with Tadhla the Falcon. Completing it will unlock the next mission called “Falcon Hunt”.
Follow the World Quest until the part where you get Liloupar’s fragment, then loot a file Wonderful box Nearby before reporting to the rally.
