Start and end dates for all Fortnite Seasons

Season 2 was when Fortnite released some genius marketing: The Battle Pass. Want some of those premium skins and nifty cosmetic features? Now you don’t have to pay for it directly! You only need to pay $10 to fight, search, and maybe hide your way to a higher level. This was also the first season when we saw the classic first chapter location, Tilted Towers.

Season 3 brought challenges and officially awakened the completed game in all of its players. Most of us will be familiar with this thought:

go to bed? Maybe in a minute, I just want to get this achievement first.

Next thing you know, it’s been three hours, and you’re proactively discussing the next day’s call to action.

Season 3 had some themed elements, but Season 4 was when themes really started to take over Fortnite updates. I focused a lot on superhero and superhero movies. Several POIs (Points of Interest) have been changed to mimic moviemaking settings.

Season 5 introduced the World’s Collide theme. The divisions are starting to open up, allowing players to move quickly across the map. This season also introduced toys to Battle Royale, which can be equipped, cast, or otherwise used when fighting against other players. This highlighted just how diverse this game really is.

The most bittersweet of Chapter 1, Season 6 destroyed Loot Lake, a popular drop point, for the amazing Darkness Rises theme, which added to the Worlds Collide storyline. He also gave us pets and music, which honestly was the selling point of the game. Bring them back, epic!

Season 7 was the first winter season. It brought a lot of joy to young children when it introduced the creative mode. In Creative, you were able to design your levels and game modes instead of always diving into battle. This has made user generated content even more popular in the Fortnite marketplace!

Season 8 gave us puzzles, treasures, and a sense of adventure. Mass raids of pirate camps became commonplace, and that meant another enemy to think of besides other players. These puzzles also gave us something to think about if we wanted to unlock those sweet and wonderful rewards.

The classic Fortnite shades of blue/purple/pink are already making their appearance in Season 9, which is themed after some sort of cyber-futuristic setting. Fortunately, the sensory overload has been lightened up a bit in future seasons.

Season X was the final season of Chapter 1. With a theme titled “Out of Time,” they planned from the start of the season to completely revamp the game in Fortnite Chapter 2. A lot of players were worried when everything would be sucked into a black hole at the end of the chapter, as we haven’t heard No news for several days. There were conspiracies and speculations, galore.

Boats, a bandage bazooka, and just basic weapons are three things we remember most about Chapter 2 Season 1. Fortnite has introduced new achievements, added more Battle Pass mechanics and rewards, and made crossing the water in the game more fun. It finally felt like the game it was meant to be.

This season brought the Muscle-Cat and gave us options for the rewards we earned. The Shadow and Ghost collections gave us light and dark versions of characters, item skins, and weapon skins. We also got a funny dance no matter what character you’re in: the Kitty Cat dance.

Much of the map was flooded in Chapter 2 Season 3. It has ebbed over the course of the season, but has made boating an absolute necessity in the meantime. Season 2 was technically the first season to introduce design content within the game (does anyone use Maya anymore?), but season 3 lets us design our parachute!

Marvel acquired Fortnite in Chapter 2 Season 4. Some special items that mimic the powers of our favorite superheroes have been made available, and several important parts of the map have been replaced with Marvel-related areas. Upstate New York has become the hotspot of Downsizing, where players will encounter Iron Man himself. At the end of the season, Fortnite did something it had never done before and had its players fly their BattleBus to defeat Galactus!

Season 5 gave us bounties, bounty hunters, and Baby Yoda. The story revolves around Agent Jonesy’s recruitment of bounty hunters, who appear in the game as NPCs that you can interact with. They provide missions and items and were the only way to upgrade your weapons. Once you reach Level 100 in the Battle Pass, you’ll have everyone’s favorite Mandalorian, aptly named Baby Yoda, as your companion!
