The US House of Representatives committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riots has threatened Trump’s former White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, with contempt charges unless he testifies Friday morning. “There is simply no valid legal basis for Mr. Meadows’ continued resistance to the subpoena of the Select Committee,” the commission wrote to George Terwilliger, Meadows’ attorney, late Thursday.
